We recognise that everyone feels uncomfortable in front of the camera, especially when working with a stranger. We make every effort to put all our clients at ease as quickly as possible thus ensuring you are relaxed enough to get the shot we all want.

Candid Headshots

Many business people are moving away from the more formal style of headshot, the type of image you’d see on a passport. Nowadays we need our clients to see an authentic style image that reflects our personality. If this is you then you’ve come to the right place. We spend our time getting to know you a little better so that any image we provide shows you in a more relaxed pose that is both authentic and candid.

HEADSHOTS FAQ

How should I prepare for my Headshot?

Your headshot should show you at your best so a visit to your favourite hair stylist should be considered just before the shoot. Be careful not to overdo the make-up. Modern day camera’s pick up every detail in your face so it’s important that your make-up gives you a natural look and is evenly applied. Don’t worry about any minor flaws like spots, cold sores, or stray hairs as we can remove these in post- production.

What kind of outfit should I wear?

A lot will depend on what background you wish to have. For formal headshots, we often see plain white or black backgrounds. If that is what you want then you need to wear something that will contrast with that. Ie If you want a white background don’t wear a white shirt/top. If your headshot is to be more informal, then your choice of clothing should reflect your personality. The background is less important in images like these and we can find somewhere that matches your outfit rather than the other way around. It would be sensible to bring a few different outfits with you to your shoot.

I hate having my picture taken, what can I do?

It might surprise you to know, that we all feel the same. Virtually everyone I know hates having to smile for the camera. My job is to put you at ease and help get you to relax in front of the camera so that we get a shot that is as close to the real you as we can. Rather than be afraid of the process why not embrace it, we will take the time to make sure we get THAT shot so if we hear, "it'll do" then we haven't got there yet so it can and probably will take time. We like to get to know our clients a little first, chat a bit and allow you to get to know us too. You’d be amazed what a little chit chat before we start shooting can help achieve.
